Give Thanks

1 Thessalonians 5:18

…In everything give thanks…for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.

How do I give thanks in All circumstances?

I find that it is easy to be thankful when things are working in my favor, I’m felling great that day, I received some monies in the bank or basically something good has happened that cause me to feel thankful.

Based on the conditions, I would conclude that thankfulness is a conditional. It all depends on what is happening in my life. In my analysis, this is quite a sad attitude to have with regards to out creator God.

The word of God says that His mercies towards us is new every morning (Lamentations 3:23). Why then, am I being ungrateful in the portion I have been given or sometimes chosen.

Let me dissect this verse of scripture a little more for a clearer understanding.

Give thanks- tells me that I am not the recipient but who is receiving what I am giving, if II chose to give it. God ultimately!

Thanks- eucharisteo (Greek) a very meaning to be grateful, feel thankful, to express gratitude. Thankfulness requires we actively engage in a response that reforms your attitude about your circumstances

This Greek work encompasses several root words Charis meaning grace and the derivative Chara which is Greek for joy.

He took the bread and knew it to be a gift and gave thanks. We too participate in eucharisteo in communion, and in life if we so choose.

In conclusion, the sacrifice of Jesus’ life gives us life leaves us with the gift of eternal life. Life alone is a gift; without it we will not experience anything here in the earth. Our circumstances are ever changing but one thing is true that our life in Christ is forever sustained.

Thankfulness is not an outward action, but it is a spiritual transaction with God! ðŸ˜Š
